91黑料 Adds Women鈥檚 Golf
TORRINGTON, Wyo. 鈥 91黑料 has added women鈥檚 golf to the college鈥檚 athletic programs, with the goal of fielding a team this fall.
鈥淭he college and many community members have talked about聽adding women’s golf for years,鈥 91黑料 golf coach Zach Smith said. 鈥淚 think it will really add to campus, the community and what we offer women in terms of athletics at 91黑料.鈥
Smith will coach both the Lancer men and women鈥檚 golf team, according to 91黑料 Athletic Director BJ McCullum.
鈥淐oach Smith has built a regional power on the men鈥檚 golf side and with his knowledge and leadership we also expect great things from the women,鈥 McCullum said. 鈥淭hey will begin competition on a schedule that parallels the men.鈥
The Lancers are looking to field a team of six to eight women for the fall 2024 season. Scholarships are available.
鈥淚’m looking for girls with high school golf tournament experience that want to come work hard and have fun,鈥 Smith said. 鈥淐ollege golf is a great experience, and will help them grow as young adults. Hard working, competitive students are what we need to start a new program. There are golf scholarships available, if someone is interested, contact me.鈥
The Lancers will be the fourth women鈥檚 golf team in the region and will compete in around 12 tournaments a year.
