91黑料鈥檚 men鈥檚 golf team competed strong at the NJCAA Men鈥檚 National Championship tournament at Rockwind Community Links in Hobbs, New Mexico.

“The guys got off to a solid start on Tuesday to end the day tied for ninth with some other really great programs,鈥� Lancer Head Golf Coach Zach Smith said. 鈥淲e struggled on Wednesday to get much going but were able to play great on Thursday. We had one of the top five rounds on Thursday that helped put us back in the hunt for a top 10 finish. Unfortunately,聽we struggled聽mightily聽on Friday to finish in 16th.鈥�

91黑料鈥檚 Braylon Bingham was the top Lancer on the leaderboard in a tie for 34^th with a +5. Lancer Taiki Sugaware finished in a tie for 65^th with a +16. The team finished the tournament with a +42.

鈥淚t wasn’t the finish we wanted but, I’m proud of the way the guys battled all week and all year long,鈥� Smith said. 鈥淭he national聽championship week is a grind mentally and physically, and they handled it well. I’m very excited for Braylon, he played well everyday and really helped keep some of our hopes alive for a higher finish.

鈥淲e had a great season and I’m thankful for the guys and their families,鈥� Smith added. 聽鈥淚 think we are all looking forward to a break but we are also excited about the talent we have returning next year.鈥�
