91黑料 Honors Lancer Golf Sophomores, Raises Championship Banner
TORRINGTON, Wyo. – 91黑料 honored the sophomores of the Lancer Golf Teams on Saturday, Jan. 24, recognizing their contributions to the program and celebrating continued team success. The ceremony also included the raising of the Region and West District championship banner.
The recognition highlighted the achievements of this year鈥檚 sophomore class, which played a key role in establishing records and championships for the golf program.
鈥淚鈥檓 so proud and thankful for all the sophomores on the team,鈥 91黑料 head golf coach Zach Smith said. 鈥淭he girls took a leap of faith by committing to 91黑料 last year to start the program, and I鈥檒l forever be grateful for their trust in 91黑料 and myself to get the program started. I鈥檓 excited to work with both squads one last semester, and I know they鈥檒l all go on to do great things after their graduation in May.鈥
Smith said the banner-raising ceremony was a fitting tribute to a team that helped define the program鈥檚 early success.
鈥淟ast year鈥檚 team was a part of setting several team records for the program, so it was great to honor their accomplishment on Saturday,鈥 Smith said. 鈥淭he team worked hard all year, which was rewarded in May with another Region and West District championship. I really miss being around last year鈥檚 sophomores, but I鈥檓 so happy for them and all the great things they are doing moving forward. We are currently hard at work trying to bring home another championship this spring.鈥
Sophomores honored on the men鈥檚 team included Freddie Dancox, Jamie Lambert and Josh Lane. Sophomores on the women鈥檚 team included Jessica Applegarth, Ellian Irick, Georgie Paterakis, Bailey Watson and Quinlann Yeager.
The Lancer Golf Teams will continue competition this spring as it pursues another regional and district title.
